Tim Dobrovolny photographs people. It's just that simple.
Tim is a German photographer that shoots portraits - sometimes models; sometimes actresses; sometimes musicians; sometimes just his friends.
"It may sound weird, but some of my favorite shoots are the ones where the girl is using her mind more than her body."
KARL ROTHENBERGER
Karl Rothenberger is a really subtle photographer, an artist that gets out of the way and lets his subjects express themselves.
He works between New York, L.A. and his native Chicago.

Robin Black has pushed the idea of beauty so far that it gone over a cliff. She is not really concerned with making people look pretty, instead she gets her subjects to reveal themselves through the masks they wear.

KARL ROTHENBERGER
In a world in which a cult of personality is built up around so many photographers, Karl Rothenberger is flying under the radar. This is not accidental. Karl is a photographer that is in search of something far more subtle and delicate. He is intent on creating an intimate portrait of his subjects by simply letting them express themselves and stripping away everything else.
Karl lives in New Your City but does travel to LA and to his native Chicago. He is starting to shoot more editorial work where there is more of a narrative thread.
I included Karl in my list of "11 Underrated Photographers You Should Be Following"; he is still underrated and if you are not following him then you are really missing out on deep, intimate and beautiful work.

ROBIN BLACK
Robin Black's BEAUTY IS BORING is a non-conventional and thoughtful take on beauty. She shoots with a vintage Polaroid camera complete with vintage flashcubes and actual film.
To me, the central thread of The Quiet Front is the idea of nakedness; not nudity per se but the revelation of the self. Often this means stripping away the layers but there are other ways of revealing a person's nature. Coco Chanel once said ""A woman is closest to being naked when she is well dressed." People can reveal themselves through what they put on.
I'm going to admit ignorance about the mechanics of make-up because mostly it reveals very little about the subject. But what Robin Black does is all together different - it challenges our conventional notion of beauty by pushing the bar and paradoxically getting her subjects to reveal themselves through the masks they wear.
Tamar Burduli is a young amateur photographer from Tbilisi, Georgia. Her work has this wonderful anologue quality; it's both rough and delicate at the same time.
