I would like to thank Ramon Spaeti & Doug Scarborough for supporting The Quiet Front - Book 1:
Ramon Spaeti is a Swiss design director and self-taught film photographer based in Zurich. He shoots a lot on film; I really like his work.
Photography is a creative project that Doug Scarborough dabbles with - his work has a wide range and he's got some really good shots.
I would like to thank my friend Simon Bishop for supporting The Quiet Front - Book 1:
Simon understands things about the world that I never will. (The fact that he sent me a picture of Henry Miller gives him bonus points)
The Quiet Front is an obsession. We are going to publish our first book and we would love your support.
This site pushes provocative and creative art; it’s not mainstream and it’s not commercial - if you are here then it’s because you’re looking for art that explores the human figure with depth and integrity.
We are going to be adding a few more rewards in the way of prints but I would really love to see people buying the book itself. Your support goes directly to the contributing artists; 11 artists from all over the world - they are all fantastic photographers.
This is going to be something beautiful.

A very special thank you to BAN for supporting our project!
BAN captures the ephemeral moments of his subjects. His work often borders on total abstraction but there are always hints of the naked form.
I have followed his work for some time now - it's challenging and provocative (that's a great combination); he is definitely worth following.
I would like to thank Joshua Andress for supporting The Quiet Front - Book 1:
Joshua Andress is responsible for a really great curated tumblr of black and white photography - definitely worth following.
I would like to thank Nuno Brito Photography for supporting The Quiet Front - Book 1:
Nuno Brito Photography is the private work of an orthopaedic surgeon from Lisbon. He is entirely self taught and definitely worth following.
I would like to thank everybody that has shown faith in us and backed our project.
A special thanks to our first two public supporters:
Gabriel Lepage, Visual Artist.
Gabriel is our first public supporter and a king in my book.
E.E. McCollum is really good photographer; I've featured his work on the site before - I really love his Cocoon Series.
I've created a Supporters Page here.
I'm not really a "social" person and I actually enjoy the fact that the content of this site is banned on most platforms but I am going to withdraw my cynicism for the duration of the campaign and thank everyone that has shared, liked, reblogged, high-fived and anything else they do on those things; I really appreciate it.
I've started to realise that this is going to be a herculean task; tie me to the mast! I really believe in this project, I believe that artists should be paid for their contribution; this is the future of The Quiet Front.
For the people that have enquired about being a "Major Supporter" and would like to know what kind of exposure there contribution will get. These are my numbers for the last month:
The Major Supporter thumbnails will stay up in my sidebar for the three months that we take to run the campaign and produce / distribute the books so you can multiply the last month's analytics by three to get an estimate of your reach.
I've also built our Supporters Page; it would be really good to see it full up!
(Side Note: A lot of women follow this site; it's a real point of pride for me - thank you)
I've been running this site for over 2 years and I've made some great connections. The Quiet Front Books are going to be a very important part of making this site a success going forward. As a reward for your help, our supporters are going to get beautiful content not available in the normal flow of the site.
All of the funds that we are raising are going to go directly into the hands of the contributing artists; I believe on paying artists for their work and not just offering "exposure". If we can make The Quiet Front - Book 1 a success then we can move on to supporting many more artists in the future.
We really would love your support.
Thank you.

Update: For those of you who are asking for a physical book: Yes! we are definitely planning one. What we are doing now is paying artists so that we have exceptional contributions and we will definitely be collecting these works into a beautiful quality physical book in the future.
