Promoted Work: Kickstarter - Burl Esque Book by Van Sarki

Burl Esque Book by Van Sarki

"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth."

OSCAR WILDE

"I think a person's true being is captured physically when they are natural and have no hair or make-up, no mask to hide under. And then a persons true emotional and intellectual being is captured through interaction when they are wearing a mask."

VAN SARKI

Van Sarki has created a beautiful series of photographs that he is putting into a book. This is a project that we should really get behind.

You can find a full description of Van Sarki's Burl Esque Book on Kickstarter.

Promoted Work: The Rich & The Beautiful Will Be Eaten

The Rich & The Beautiful Will Be Eaten

“These are hard times my friend. The Rich and the Beautiful will be Eaten, first.”

Magazines don't think Robert Gaudette's work is a good fit; apparently their customers aren't too comfortable with his themes. I should point out that the customers for these magazines isn't their audience; it's advertisers and sponsors. Mindless consumers are the product being sold.

Robert is creating something for artists, like himself, who find themselves outside the machine.

At the moment The Rich & The Beautiful Will Be Eaten is just going to show great work on their site but I'm really hoping that it will turn into something that we can support directly (an ebook?); put our money down and see work created for us, the audience, with a pure creative spirit that never has to answer to the stunted worldview of the industry.

Support this project by following them on tumblr & sharing it on the facebook & @WILLBEEATEN

If you are are an artist and find that the work that you really want to be doing is also outside the machine, consider a submission.

I also recommend that you check out Robert Gaudette's work; he is a fantastic photographer (main site & tumblr)
